Massey & Associates - Firm Overview
Personal Injury is the foundation of our practice. Gary Massey worked in a large insurance defense firm immediately after graduating from law school. In that firm, he worked closely with insurance companies to defend their customers who had caused injuries. In so doing, Gary Massey gained great insight into how insurance companies operate and make decisions. Of course, he also gained great insight and experience into how personal injury cases are handled through the court system.
After several years defending insurance companies and their customers, Gary Massey switched sides. He took his knowledge and experience in working with insurance companies and began using it against them. Massey & Associates, P.C. have been very successful in these efforts.
Year after year, Massey & Associates have clients return with new problems or, more often, refer family and friends to us because of their satisfaction at the results we obtained in their original cases. Also, many other attorneys refer cases to us. Often we have had clients turned away by other attorneys or handed over to us from other attorneys with little or no hope of recovery. We turned their seemingly hopeless cases into winners.
Fees
Most of our Tennessee personal injury cases are handled on a contingency basis. This means that our fee is deducted from the client’s recovery. If we do not recover for the client, then we are entitled to no fee as long as the client allows us to handle the case through conclusion. However, if we incur expenses in handling a case, those expenses are the responsibility of the client.
Unlike many attorneys, we often pay the expenses and do not seek reimbursement from the client until the entire case is resolved which means no out-of-pocket costs to the client. Many attorneys require clients to pay expenses as the case proceeds. Also unlike many attorneys, we do not charge clients for everyday expenses such as long distance, copy costs, fax costs, or mileage on local travel.
